Master Gier Hub is your go-to companion for organizing board game tournaments, tracking scores, and discovering new games to play. This privacy policy explains what information is handled when you use the Master Gier Hub mobile application ("the App") and the companion website at board2246.com. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
Master Gier Hub developed by ST. INIGO MEDIA ("we," "us," or "our") is responsible for the App and the data described below.
What Information Does the App Collect?
Information Collected Automatically
When you open the App for the first time, a few things happen behind the scenes to get everything running smoothly:
- Anonymous identifier. The App creates a random, anonymous identifier that is unique to your installation. This helps us understand general usage patterns without knowing who you are. It stays on your device and can be erased by clearing the App's data or uninstalling it.
- Device language and region. We detect your device's language setting so the App can display content in the right language.
- Google Advertising ID. Your device's advertising identifier is collected for attribution purposes — it helps us learn how people discover the App (for example, through an ad or an organic search). You can reset this identifier or opt out of personalized advertising at any time in your Android device settings under Google > Ads.
- Installation and attribution data. We record where the App was installed from (e.g., the Google Play Store), as well as the marketing campaign or source that led you to it. This information is used to measure how effective our outreach efforts are.
How Does Attribution Work?
We use AppsFlyer, a third-party mobile attribution service, to understand how users find and install the App. AppsFlyer receives your advertising identifier, anonymous user identifier, and attribution data (installation source, campaign name). AppsFlyer may also collect additional device details (such as your IP address, device model, and operating system version) as part of its standard operation.
You can learn more about how AppsFlyer handles data in their Privacy Policy.
Built-in Browser
The App includes a built-in browser that is used to display the Privacy Policy and the Support page directly within the App. This browser supports cookies (including third-party cookies) and local storage, which are standard features of any web browser. The built-in browser does not collect any additional data beyond what is already described above. Any websites you visit through the built-in browser operate under their own privacy practices.
Support and Bug Reports
The App's Support page allows you to send us a message or report a bug. When you submit a support request, you may provide:
- Your name and email address
- A description of your question or the issue you encountered
- An optional file attachment — you can take a photo or video using your device's camera, or choose an existing file (such as a screenshot or image) through your device's file picker
This information is submitted only when you choose to send a support request. We use it solely to respond to your inquiry and resolve the reported issue. The App itself does not access your camera directly — photo and video capture is handled entirely by your device's built-in camera app.
Local Data on Your Device
The App stores your tournaments, players, match results, preferences, and settings locally on your device. None of this data leaves your phone — it is not sent to our servers. You can clear all local data at any time from within the App's settings or by clearing the App's storage through your device settings.
Network Connections
Some network connections made by the App may use unencrypted HTTP. While we take care to protect your data, information transmitted over unencrypted connections could potentially be intercepted in transit.
Why Do We Collect This Information?
We keep things simple. Here's exactly why each piece of data is collected:
- The anonymous identifier helps us understand overall usage — how many people use the App, how often they open it, and so on.
- Your device language setting lets us show the App in the right language.
- The advertising identifier and attribution data tell us where new users are coming from, so we know which outreach efforts are working.
- Support form data is used to answer your questions and fix problems you report.
Do We Share Your Data With Anyone?
We do not sell your personal information. The only third party that receives data from the App is:
- AppsFlyer — receives your advertising identifier, anonymous user identifier, and attribution data for analytics and marketing measurement. See their Privacy Policy for details.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
How Long Is Data Kept?
- Anonymous identifier — stays on your device until you clear the App's data or uninstall the App.
- Google Advertising ID — managed by Google Play Services on your device; you can reset it at any time.
- AppsFlyer data — retained according to AppsFlyer's own data retention policies.
- Cookies and local storage (from the built-in browser) — follow standard browser expiration rules and are cleared when you clear the App's data.
- Local app data (tournaments, settings) — stays on your device until you delete it from the App or clear the App's storage.
- Support messages — kept only as long as needed to resolve your inquiry.
How Is My Data Protected?
We take reasonable steps to keep your information safe. Data transmitted to third-party services is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS) by default. Your local app data is stored in your device's private storage area, which is not accessible to other apps.
What Are My Choices?
You have control over your data. Here's what you can do:
- Reset your advertising identifier — go to your Android device settings under Google > Ads to reset or opt out of personalized advertising.
- Clear local data — use the "Delete All Data" option in the App's settings to remove your tournaments and user data, or clear the App's storage through your device settings to remove everything including the anonymous identifier and browser data.
- Uninstall the App — all local data is permanently removed when you uninstall.
Is This App Safe for Children?
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete it.
Will This Policy Change?
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll post the updated version within the App and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to check back occasionally.
